ABOUT US

We are a family-owned business located in the Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina. We run a diversified homestead on 24 acres where we raise cattle, chickens, tend to gardens, orchards and greenhouse crops in addition to blending your favorite soil mixes.

Farmer Focused: We founded Dirtcraft in 2018 to fill the need for high quality, performance potting soils here in the Southeast. We are a small farmer-oriented business, serving growers directly with a commitment to performance products, a personal approach to customer service and a growing network of organic farmers and nursery growers who put their trust in our products.

Soil is life:  Living soil with a diversity of beneficial microbes is the secret to plant health, vigor and disease resistance. Microbes in the soil are the backbone of natures digestive and immune system. Never sterilized or containing harmful synthetics, our soils are compost-based and feature a plethora of microbial foods to promote beneficial biology.

Sustainably Sourced: Our commitment to developing peat-free soil alternatives was the spark that started this company in 2018. We relentlessly vet all of our ingredients with a focus on renewable and locally sourced inputs. We believe that building healthy soils is key to solving the triple threat of climate change, biodiversity loss and food insecurity.
